WHAT HAPPENED IN JULY IN OUR GARDEN

Posted by JW

LETS SEE WHAT PHOTOS WE TOOK IN JULY 2014

*

As we wonder around the gardens we see different and sometimes strange things.  As we sit and read we hear many different sounds.  Many times we hear things but can not see them and if we move from the lounge chair its gone.  “GOOF” the wonder dog lets us know if any thing dangerous like “Pink Elephants” or “Lions” are in the gardens.  So far all he has told us are around are some Chipmunks and birds.

Male Scarlet Tanager

Its been a few years since we have seen the Scarlet Tanager. Am sure they have been around but its very difficult to see them way up in the top of the trees.

Rudbeckia, Agastache, Monarda all are pollinators, Hummingbird and Butterfly attractors.

We are seeing lots of pollinators not many butterfly’s.  As the flowers go to seed the American Goldfinches will come to glean the seeds.

Hummingbird is a regular user of the top of this tepee.  Scanning the area and then off to catch something then returning to eat the catch and wait for the next one.

  2. Hi Liza and John,
So gracious of you to share your beautiful photos again. It is always a pleasure to take a virtual ‘walk’ around your garden. I hope, some day, I will have something to show again. You two take care, enjoy the summer.
