OTHER GARDEN PHOTOS FROM THE PAST

As I look around the garden for photos to post I keep finding some that best be grouped and shown together in the same post.  Will try some in the next posts.  It is very enjoyable to look through the pictures and remember when and where that was. Sometimes I am saying to myself is that our garden or did we grow that.

IMG_3151Installing a frog bubbler Aug. 2009. It is still going strong and has been in several locations around the garden. Birds come and drink from the bubbling frogs mouth. This is one of three water features in the garden.  I have never seen any Deer or turkeys drinking from them but the telltale signs are there.

IMG_0566Peach color Iris. Was not with us too long I think only 2 years. Iris beds are due for upgrading this summer. Will dig out the old beds and create some new ones.

img_0001The start of a new garden. Newspaper with horse manure then compost and loam. This garden is now enclosed with a stone border and has a pergola where the blue canvas is in the photo. I will find and post some other photos showing the present garden.

100_3830Bee enjoying the sunflower. We like to grow lots of flowers that attract the pollinators and Butterflies.

  2. I’ve used the “lasagna” technique to create new beds very effectively. The no-dig method also suits my somewhat lazy habits.
