AUGUST IN OUR GARDENS

Posted by JW

As August is leaving us we have seen many beautiful things.

As August is slipping away lots of things are happening and changing in the gardens.  Of course August is the prime month for weeds,  dry and hot and the weeds seam to thrive.  Not many insect problems except that something is devouring the milkweed.  Have not been able to catch the critter so on it goes.  I have seen a couple of large Grass hopper type out there, they may be the ones.

Lots of Fledglings this month, Sparrows, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Yellow Finches and others.  Lots of insects like beetles, Bugs, Dragon Flies, wasps and bees. Humming birds are very busy perching at the top of things and then darting off to catch something. American Goldfinches are cleaning out the Sunflowers.  The pollinators have finished with the agastache gone to seed now the birds are taking over.

As August slides away we have a new addition to our selection of toys and things.  It is a ROADTECK  190 RV.  Next trip to Florida will be with the dogs.

  1. Beautiful photos, and that’s quite a ‘toy’ you have there. 🙂 Safe driving.
