WHATS UP
SPRING IS HERE LETS TAKE A WALK AROUND THE GARDENS
*
This is about April 14 Th. we have returned from a quick visit to Florida to take a walk around the gardens. Lots of things have popped up and most of the snow is gone. Crocuses are in bloom and some of the Daffodils are in bloom with lots of others to follow. Our gardens have different conditions some are full sun and others are partial so the same plants emerge at different times.

*
Hellebore growing under a large Oak Tree. Don’t let anyone tell you Deer won’t eat them because they did. This year they where under 2 to 3 feet of snow so Deer did not disturb them.
*
*
*
This Fence has been in a few years now. Daffodils are taking over looks like some refurbishing to go on this year.
*
Crocus hiding behind daffodils next to a Rose of Sharon. Rose of Sharon attacked by a Bear 4 years ago and has made a good come back.
*
Ice storm left us with lots of damaged trees this one is close to the house and will become a great garden.
*
A good batch of Iris coming up. Looks like it did well last year and may need some thinning this year.
*
*
Things are happening fast now. Next post will be about 10 days later showing a lot more up and blooming. Don’t forget to say HI!

Hi…Nice to see real f lowers blooming! Our Indiana lawns are
covered with wild violets and a few dandeloins for contrast color. Too bad they are weeds! Your many hours of yard labor is paying off and looks like you will have bountiful summer! Am looking forward to it! Take care and don’t overdo the “working” part!!
Love to all, Joyce

HI Joyce and Terry: In a way dandelion is considered a Spring Flower and a good green part of our natural not cared for lawn. It’s green and is a good grower in about any type of soil. Bit of a pain in the flower beds. I think I will start calling it Taraxacum officinale from now on and that will end all the why questions about dandelion’s growing in our yard.
Have a great evening,
John
