Things are slow in the Habitat

Not much going on here, no sign of any Deer or other creatures.  Winter Birds are becoming more active and of course squirrels are still active.  This will be the third fall that we have had no sign of the Bears.  Saw a couple of rabbits the other day but not seeing them often.

Came across this video and thought some of you may enjoy.

Will be setting up the bird feeders for winter feeding and the Bird Cam will also be activated so we can all enjoy the activity at the feeders.

That’s it for now see you soon with another post.

  1. Looking forward to the bird cam. Do you have your gardens all put to bed for the winter?

    Beth

  2. HI Beth: No we do not have the gardens all put to bed. Warm spell here and some things think it is spring. Yellow butterfly Bush just wont quit.

    Enjoy your Evening,

  5. I haven’t seen many live deer, but there seemed to be lots that met a dire end on the roads in the past weeks. I hear gunshots in the distance, so I’m sure there are deer in the area. Have hunters near you?

  6. Luckily my dogs keep the local wildlife out of the garden. The last time I saw the resident bear was the middle of this past summer. I do not want to see the couger at any time!
I am seriously looking forward to the bird cam. I am excited actually. It should be really fun.
    Have a great day John

  7. Deer Ilona: Hunting season not open yet here but poachers year round. Bow and Arrow starts soon and then open season for a couple of weeks.

We here them all year long in the Town Forest areas behind us.

    Enjoy,
    John

  8. HI LeSan: If its in the area we have had it visit us. Over the years there has been no limit to who came to visit. We have had Coyote, Bear, Fisher, Martins, Deer, Fox and many others. We have 10 acres bordering two town Forests and a large wet land totaling about 10,000 acres give or take a few. I believe what I see when I look out the window. If it’s in our yard we share.

    Have a Great Evening,
